Okay so this happens to me like every day.

I post something on Facebook. Then I see it. A typo. A slight typo. Week I wrote “congradulations” instead of congratulations.. 15 People already liked it. I was like, no way.

I did not want to delete it because then all the likes and comments are gone. So I searched how do I edit a Facebook post.

Guess what it is so easy. Like 10 seconds.

How Do I Edit a Facebook Post?

You can edit Facebook post anytime. It does not matter if you posted it 2 minutes ago or 2 years ago. You can still go back. Fix it. Your likes stay comments stay. Everything stays. Facebook just shows a Edited” tag, that is it. Most people do not even notice it.

So here is how you do it

On your phone

which is how 90 percent of us use Facebook…

– Open the Facebook app. Go to your profile. Find the Facebook post you messed up.

– Now look at the right corner of that Facebook post. You will see three dots… Yeah that one. It is kinda small. Tap on it.

– A menu will open. You will see Edit Facebook post. Tap that.

– Now you can change whatever you want. Fix the spelling add a line, delete something. Whatever.

After you are done, tap Save on the right. That is it. You just edited a Facebook post.

On laptop 

it is even easier honestly.

Go to facebook.com find your Facebook post, three dots same Edit Facebook post, then Save. Same steps, bigger screen.

Now one thing that confuses a lot of people

Can you change the photo? 

No. You can not.

I tried it many times. You can only edit Facebook post caption. Like the text above the photo. You can add a location you can tag someone. You can not replace the photo itself with a new one.

If you really want to change the photo you have to delete the Facebook post and make a new one. There is no way I checked.

Sometimes you can not even find the Edit button. Why? 

I had this problem too. There are like 3 reasons.

First one is – 

You boosted the Facebook post. If you paid money to boost it as an ad Facebook locks it. You can not edit it. You have to go and delete the ad first in Ads Manager then you can edit.

Second –

It is a poll. If you made a poll and people already voted you can not edit it. Which makes sense otherwise you could cheat.

Third –

It is a bug. Facebook app is man. Sometimes it just does not show the option. Just close the app update it or try from your browser. It usually comes back.

So yeah, that is it.

My advice? Do not delete. Just edit Facebook post. It takes 5 seconds and you keep all your likes and comments. Way better than posting
